We have 35 hectares of our own vineyards in Labastida. The wealth of our vineyard resides in the variety of soils. We preserve calcareous soils in the south, ideal for White Grenache, and clay soils in the north, where varieties such as Tempranillo thrive; each terroir imprints its distinctive character on our grapes, creating unique wines that faithfully reflect their origin.
All our work in the field is organic and biodynamic, and we are currently seeking to be certified as an organic vineyard. From one plot to another, the grapes ripen with a difference of 15 to 20 days, making us pioneers in small-scale winemaking. We only grow native varieties on our land to make wines that taste of Rioja Alavesa: Tempranillo, Graciano, Grenache, White Grenache, Malvasía, and Viura.
At Bodegas Tierra, the vineyard is our only passion, and we seek to differentiate each wine according to altitude, soil type, and grape variety.
We work with various formats when making our wines. Recently, we have incorporated a range of Austrian, Hungarian, Romanian, French, and American oak barrels to add different flavours and nuances to our wines, always using large-volume barrels. We also use cement, concrete egg, porcelain and ceramic tanks, and we have also added a marble tank to make our fresh and original rosé Tierra de Mármol.
