The Rioja Alavesa Wine Route offers you the chance to enjoy a wide range of activities related to the exciting world of wine all year round. Rioja Alavesa has become a destination that enthusiasts, amateurs, professionals, and anyone who wants to enjoy an exciting experience based around wine, gastronomy, and exceptional scenery shouldn’t miss.
Thanks to the support of institutions in Alava and the Basque Country, Rioja Alavesa has become a world-class wine tourism destination.
A route that, in addition to wineries, provides visitors with many other attractions, such as landscapes of endless vineyards dotted with medieval towns, festivals that reflect the lifestyle of the local people, tailor-made trips and attractive accommodation, such as inns, hotels or country guest houses. All brimming with charm.
It is a collective project that has brought together more than 140 establishments, including all kinds of wineries, museums, accommodation establishments, restaurants, entertainment companies, and wine shops, to improve the visitor experience.

This collaboration has become the flagship project of a region in Alava that offers increasingly complete and personalised services, full of enthusiasm for a job well done. Here, you can enjoy a wide range of wineries and their wines and a cuisine faithful to its roots, rich in pulses and vegetables from the Alava countryside, together with meats, sausages and desserts based on traditional popular recipes.
Rioja Alavesa has adopted the quality charter drawn up by the Asociación de Ciudades del Vino (ACEVIN) and the Department of Tourism, as well as the criteria defined by Basquetour in Euskadi Gastronomika. We adhere strictly to the requirements established by these organisations. Furthermore, since January 2006, we have been part of the select "Rutas del Vino de España" Product Club as a CERTIFIED route.
