It also preserves a large number of 17th and 18th century houses. The Palace of the Sodupe family is one of the most outstanding. It is worth making a stop at the late Gothic hermitages of Santiago and the San Juan de Ortega hermitage, which features an image of the Immaculate Conception at the top of the altarpiece.
Two major archaeological finds have been discovered in the surrounding area, an Iron Age hillfort at Alto de Castejón, and a medieval necropolis from the 9th and 10th centuries. On 7 December, the ‘las mañas’ festivity is held, in which lavender torches are burned to purify the village of evil spirits. The following day, Navaridas celebrates the festivity of the Immaculate Conception, its patron saint.
