Vallobera

Javier San Pedro, a fourth-generation winegrower whose ancestors made wine in bulk, founded Bodegas Vallobera in 1990 to make, bottle and market his own wines, seeking the highest quality and showing great respect and care for the vineyards.

This family winery began by producing young wines using carbonic maceration (the traditional method in the Rioja Alavesa region), and in 1992, they decided to start ageing their wines, with Vallobera Crianza 1992 being the first to be released on the market.

Bodegas Vallobera has grown steadily over the years, from 100 (old) barrels in 1992 to 2,200 today, and from mainly domestic sales to its current presence in Asia, Europe and America. We currently produce around 1.3 million bottles.

We have 100 hectares of vineyards, and our wines truly reflect our love for the land, the vineyards, and hard work in the fields. We adhere to the principle of minimal intervention in the winery.
