In the Middle Ages, Casa Primicia, the Church used to collect taxes, the Diezmos (tithes) and Primicias (first fruits), levied on the vineyards located near Laguardia, and made wine with the grapes collected in this way.
During the 1970s, the Madrid family leased this building to make wine using traditional methods, in its centuries-old stone vats.
In 2021, Bodegas Casa Primicia was given the BEST OF Wine Tourism prize, an international competition that awards excellence.
This prize came on the heels of a number of other awards obtained at the most prestigious international wine-tasting competitions held throughout the world, including more than 50 gold medals in the last 4 years (Challenge International Du Vin de Burdeos, Mundus Vini in Dusseldorf, Tokyo, Brussels, Vienna, Canada, Ecovinos, and so on).
Without doubt, these awards are a testimony to the good work of this family-run winery, which has managed to consolidate the reputation of Bodegas Casa Primicia as an outstanding winery that respects the centuries-old wine-making traditions of this region.
