This was an 11th century mansion and became Casa Primicia in the 15th century. This was the first winery to produce wine in significant quantities five centuries ago; this is the singular building where the wine history of the Rioja Alavesa District began. After three years of careful and respectful restoration work, Casa Primicia Winery will open its doors in the spring of 2009.
