Navaridas was founded when two ancient hamlets were joined together: Navaridas de Yuso and Navaridas de Suso, both of which had very few inhabitants. It is located on a small hill called El Cerrillo, crowned by the church of the Inmaculada Concepción. Its Baroque altarpiece with gold inlay is of special interest.
There are a large number of well-preserved houses dating from the 17th and 18th -century. One of the most important of these is the mansion of the Sodupe family. It is worth while spending some time in the Late Gothic chapels of Santiago, and at the chapel of San Juan de Ortega, with the image of the Inmaculada placed on the top of the altarpiece.
Major archaeological remains have been found in the area surrounding the village: an Iron Age fort in Alto de Castejón, and a necropolis, which may be more than 800 years old. In the place called El Monte, you can visit the largest forest of evergreen oak in the Rioja Alavesa, "el encinar de Navaridas".
On December 7, the festival of “las mañas” is held, in which torches made from lavender are burnt in order to rid the village of bad spirits.
The following day, in the festival of the Inmaculada Concepción, Navaridas celebrates the day of its patron saint.
