The streets of Samaniego encourage you to walk between very well preserved but stern looking Stone houses. The entire urban area has a structure that recalls of the military past as a frontier town on the border between the Kingdoms of Navarre and Castile. Key elements are the parish church of the Assumption, Matarredo neighborhood, El Cristo hermitage, El Valle hermitage and The Samaniego’s Palace. It preserves several interesting events in the year such as the burning of Judas on Easter Sunday.
